About the Position:
The Group Manager – Community Spaces and Places brings the rich culturalheritage of Invercargill alive through providing arts and culture facilities thatconnect the past and present with the people of the region.
In addition, the positionensures easy access to open spaces such as parks and urban landscapes creatingsafe and welcoming places for people to gather, connect and play.
A key member of the Executive Team, the position will contribute tothe Council business strategy as well as take overall responsibility forproviding a wide range of essential and highly sought after Council services,including the Museum, ensuring they are fit for purpose and reflect the communitiesthey serve.
Skills and Experience:
You will be a visionary leader, able to see how best to connect thephysical world and the stories and objects that reflect the people ofInvercargill, creating a city that better meets the needs for future citizens.
A compelling communicator, you will form sustainable and effectiverelationships within the Council and across the community.
You will alsounderstand the importance of effective community engagement to get support forInvercargill’s Museum and other arts and culture facilities.
An expert at planning, you will ensure projects are delivered ontime and on budget.
