At the Hermitage, Aoraki/Mount Cook, our guests stay with us because of the unique location, amazing views, excellent service, and the one-off experiences we provide.

Our team sees every aspect of the hospitality industry, whilst gaining a unique experience that develops their career, and can be transferred when they are ready for the next exciting adventure.Our Glacier Explorers offer a unique guest experience to our visitors.
Our skipper guides drive and maneuver small passenger boats to take our guests on a fun and informative excursion on Tasman Lake, interacting around icebergs and up to the mighty terminal face of NZ's largest glacier.What will you bring to the role?
Previous guiding experience is preferred, ideally a minimum of 6 months.
We provide all training to ensure you are up to speed with our products, services, standards, and expectations.Commitment for a full season or permanent employmentNZ driver's license or entitlement to drive in NZPassion for the outdoors and eagerness to learn and step upAbility to manage a group, with strong public speaking and communication skillsResponsibility, commitment, reliability, and flexibility to work across different tours and productsFlexible, with a can-do attitude and willingness to learnTo stand out:Previous guiding experience of six months or more (preferred)Boating or water sports experience (advantageous)First aid experience (beneficial)Class 2 and P endorsements (beneficial)The role and benefits:Full-time, fixed-term or permanent position, minimum 60 hours per fortnight, $28-$32/hourComprehensive training and up-skillingFree access to all Hermitage activities after 8 weeksDiscounts on food and beverages from day oneDiscounted hotel accommodation for friends and family after 8 weeksStunning surroundings and a short, remarkable commute to workIf this sounds like you, apply now and start the experience of a lifetime!
