He angitutanga | The opportunityWe are looking for a Geospatial Specialist (Systems)to lead the administration and optimisation of Auckland Council's geospatial platforms.
In this role you will work closely with Enterprise Infrastructure staff to ensure geospatial servers and applications are secure, reliable and performing at their best.You will also provide consulting services across development teams and business units, acting as a subject matter expert for geospatial systems and promoting best practice.
From developing processes and standards, to supporting project planning and system upgrades, this role is central to maintaining trust in our geospatial environments.He korero mou | About youYou will bring strong technical expertise in geospatial systems and server administration, combined with excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
With experience supporting complex geospatial platforms, you will be comfortable engaging with stakeholders and building trusted relationships across diverse teams.We are looking for someone with:• A tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Information Management or similar, or equivalent experience in ArcGIS server administration• 5+ years' experience managing configurations for a full-scale geospatial platform• A strong understanding of incident, problem, change and release management practices• Proven ability in application development, technical requirements analysis and data modelling• Strong project management skills to deliver on time and within budget• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to explain technical detail to non-technical audiences• Experience with SQL Server Management Studio and T-SQL would be an advantage• Experience with automated deployment patterns, CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code would bean advantage• Experience working in an Agile (SAFe) environment would also be an advantageThis role will suit someone who pays close attention to detail, enjoys working collaboratively, and is motivated by delivering solutions that directly support Auckland Council's operations.Nga ahuatanga kei a matou | What we offerYou will be part of a supportive and collaborative team that values innovation and continuous improvement.
