Are you a strategic leader with a passion for driving growth and innovation?

DIALOG Fitzroy Ltd is seeking an experienced General Manager - New Business Development to lead our expansion across New Zealand and Australia.

This executive-level role is pivotal in identifying, pursuing, and securing new business opportunities while overseeing tendering and marketing functions in a fast-paced, complex industry.

This role is based in New Plymouth, Taranaki.


At DIALOG Fitzroy, we design, build and maintain complex industrial assets across New Zealand and Australia.

With over 65 years of experience, we've built a reputation as a trusted partner to clients in energy, petrochemicals, dairy, pharmaceuticals, geothermal, water treatment, tank terminals, and other bespoke industries.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Lead growth strategies and market expansion initiatives.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration to align business development with operational delivery.
  • Oversee the full tender lifecycle—from lead generation, tendering, contract award and post-award performance tracking.
  • Own and manage standard contract frameworks (NEC, NZS 3910, AS 4000, and bespoke models as required).
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships across multiple levels and sectors.
  • Direct marketing efforts to enhance brand visibility and reputation to align with our regionalisation aspirations.
  • Monitor and report on business development KPIs and pipeline performance via CRM tool.
  • Champion a high-performance culture and continuous improvement.

  • Proven experience in senior business development leadership roles.
  • Strong understanding of contract frameworks and commercial negotiation.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking and market analysis capabilities.
  • Demonstrated success in leading tendering and marketing teams.
  • Ability to build trusted relationships with clients, partners, and internal stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and decision-making skills.
