The Fat Duck Restaurant is a popular and vibrant award winning Gastropub located in Te Anau on the edge of the stunning Fiordland National Park, with world class outdoor activities (and a lake) on the doorstep.

 We are a skip hop and a jump from Queenstown and from Invercargill, the gateway to the Caitlins.

We are looking for a Fixed term, full time experienced Front of House Team Member, that can work in a fast paced environment, knows how to make your customers smile, and wants to be part of a great team.

While we take our work and our jobs seriously, we also believe you should be able to enjoy your work and we believe in working hard and smart.

Team Culture and the ability to learn and progress are key for us.

This position is until the end of the April, with the possibility of a permanent position at the end of the term.

Please do not apply if you are not available Feb-April.

We are open 5 days a week Wednesday- Sunday for dinner from 5pm.

With these operational days and hours, it still leaves you time to explore the Fiordland playground as we are believers of a healthy work-life balance.

The candidate will be available for opening and closing shifts, as well as weekends.

Personality is key in this position, as we have a firm focus on providing not only great technical service but taking the time to get to know and chat to our customers - our hospitality is part of what makes our restaurant great.

 Whilst his role encompasses working both the Bar and Floor sections, we would prefer the main experience to be working a floor section.

  • A person who is experienced and confident dealing with customers, and also working alongside Junior team members

Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Using our digital systems and apps for all of our daily and weekly operations
  • Providing a high level of service, full training in our service systems will be given
  • Working alongside and assisting junior team members
  • Assisting the managers to setup the restaurant, and assisting with bookings and seating in quieter periods
  • Being involved in our weekly meetings - we operate an Open Book Management model, so you will be involved in the financial operations and planning

Please note we will only be hiring candidates from within NZ that have a current Open Work visa.
