Role description:


Working in the freeze dry department as a Freeze Dry Commissioning Engineer this position will have you split your time between the Blenheim workshop (building the dryers and factory acceptance testing) and client sites around the world (commissioning new machines, servicing and fault finding existing machines).

A strong professional manner is essential given this is a client facing position.

This role will require you to be away from home for a few weeks at a time, but with a wider team and careful project planning, you will be based in Blenheim for most of the year.


Responsibilities will include:

  • Building, installing and commissioning the freeze dryers which includes all aspects of refrigeration, mechanical, electrical and pneumatic systems

  • Heavy involvement in the research and development of new machines

  • Improve existing systems and processes

    • This role will suit someone with the following background / experience / qualities:

  • Fully qualified refrigeration engineer

  • Practical background experience of engineering systems and disciplines

  • Strong skills in working autonomously on technically complex projects

  • Proficient in electrics, controls, PC applications, and information systems

  • Have high standards of quality and customer service

  • Strong communications skills, both verbally and written
