We are looking for a passionate and skilled Flight Test Engineer to join our dynamic team and contribute to the testing, evaluation, and enhancement of our cutting-edge UAV systems.Role OverviewAs a Flight Test Engineer, you will play a critical role in validating and optimizing the performance of our UAVs.
Working closely with our engineering, design, and operations teams, you will be responsible for planning, executing, and analyzing flight tests, ensuring that our UAVs meet the highest standards of safety, performance, and reliability.Key ResponsibilitiesTest Planning & Coordination: Design, develop, and manage flight test plans and schedules to validate UAV systems and subsystems.Flight Testing: Lead and participate in both ground and flight testing of UAVs, including performance evaluations, payload integration, and mission-specific scenarios.Data Analysis: Collect, analyze, and interpret test data, including flight performance, stability, control, and system diagnostics.Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with flight testing to ensure safe and successful operations.System Troubleshooting: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues discovered during flight tests and provide actionable feedback to design and development teams.Documentation: Prepare and maintain detailed test reports, flight logs, and performance assessments for internal records and regulatory compliance.Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the optimization of test methodologies and processes to improve the efficiency and accuracy of future flight tests.Customer Interaction: Work with stakeholders to communicate test results, findings, and improvements, ensuring alignment with customer requirements.Key QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.Proven Experience in flight test engineering, preferably with UAVs or aviation systems.Strong knowledge of flight dynamics, aerodynamics, and control systems.Hands-on experience with UAV platforms, flight data acquisition systems, and test equipment.Familiarity with testing methodologies such as static, dynamic, and endurance testing.Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., MATLAB, Python, Excel).
Understanding of aviation safety protocols and risk management.Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot both hardware and software issues.Clear and effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams.Desirable SkillsExperience with autonomous flight systems and related software.Knowledge of UAV regulatory standards (e.g., FAA, EASA).
Familiarity with UAV flight simulators and software-in-the-loop testing.Previous exposure to flight test planning in commercial or military UAV programs.
