With ongoing growth and plenty of exciting projects, they are now looking to add an experienced Fitter Turner/ Machinist to their team.About youYou are a trade-qualifiedFitter Turner / Machinist with a strong technical background.Have several years' experience in the trade (minimum 6 years post apprenticeship)You're self motivated, punctual & well presented.You have good English language skills & a good understanding of mathematics.You are drug free, physically fit & in good health.Be prepared to work over time & be flexible in the hours of work.You have a NZ current drivers licence.Have basic computer/internet skills (it is now common to have Inductions & Safety training via the internet)About the roleTo be highly competent in the use of general machine shop equipment, Lathes, Milling machines, shapers, broaching machines, drills, line borers, overhead gantry cranes etc.You will need to be competent in the use of general workshop equipment, MIG & stick welders, saws, brake press, guillotine, rolls, drills, grinders, punch & shear machines, overhead gantry cranes etc.Have the ability to use general hand tools, drills, disc grinders etc.To machine to *****mm tolerances regularly with good surface finishes.You will be required to complete fault finding and the repairs and maintenance of equipment, plant and machinery.You will be able to read engineering drawings and have basic drawing skills.At times you will be working at heights and within confined spaces (machinists work regular on site in maintenance type planned shuts, breakdowns and technical manpower for site installations where required).
Be capable of welding carbon steels to an acceptable standard, e.g. welding a tooling jig.BenefitsThe hours of work are Monday to Friday, ******am to ******pm, 45 hours per week.A generous hourly wage is on offer, $***** - $*****, which is based on your work experience and qualifications.
