This position plays a critical role in our nation's defense through the operation, management and defense of the Air Force portion of the Department of Defense Information Network.
You will be a key player on our team, helping the Air Force attain the following desired effects in its management of the DoD Information Network (DoDIN):Assured System and Network Availability that ensures uninterrupted availability and protection of system and network resources.
This includes providing for graceful degradation, self-healing, fail-over, diversity and elimination of critical failure points.Assured Information Protection of information in storage, at rest, while it is passing over networks, including from the time it is stored and catalogued until it is distributed to users, operators, and decision makers.Assured Information Delivery of information to users, operators, and decision makers in a timely manner.DutiesIn this role, you will Provide Enterprise Level Boundary Protection/Security services by employing, operating, managing, configuring, securing, patching, updating, upgrading, and monitoring AF boundary devices and tools.
This position's duties will include, but will not necessarily be limited to the following activities:Work with other functional areas across the enterprise to maintain and administer security boundary components to meet IAW DoD and Air Force Standards utilizing industry best practices.Change, upgrade, patch, administer boundary devices, manage load balancers, and policies, utilizing two-person integrity.Participate in project management, planning, implementation, and installation to ensure configuration and integration conforms to baseline architecture.Identify and document potential threats and manage resolution of security violations.Research IT security software and hardware solutions and determine technical applicability to the enterprise.Configure, maintain, and manage IT security-related devices including Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS), Firewalls, and Proxies.Manage policies and configurations related to Zero-Trust Next-Gen Gateways upon implementation.Perform Defensive Cyberspace Operations (DCO) and DoD Information Network (DODIN) Operations.Provide services to support Domain Name Services (DNS) and Tactical IP (TACIP) addresses.Provide DNS services for deployed unit exercises and real-world contingencies while maintaining authoritative control of the af.mil, au.edu, and af.smil.mil domains for the Air Force.Coordinate and facilitate registration of AF whitelist requirements.Coordinate, facilitate, validate, and modify Microsoft O365 email blocks as needed.Other network security related tasks, as assigned.Required Skills/EducationEducation: High School Diploma or GED.Certification Requirements: DoDD **** IAT-II; Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Administrator (PCNSA); Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE) preferred.Years of Experience: 5+ years' experience with Enterprise DOD boundary protection and CSSP operations to include: install, monitor, configure, troubleshoot, upgrade, patch, harden, maintain, and operate intrusion detection/prevention systems, firewalls, load balancers, and web proxies to protect AFNet resources from both internal and external threats according to DoD security standards.Travel: Yes (less than 10%)Security Clearance Required: SecretPosition Type: Full TimeWork Location: Maxwell AFB, Gunter Annex, AL# Openings: 4Expected hourly range: $69,**** to $82,100.Agency submissions are not being accepted at this time.For more information on Sumaria Systems, please visit our website at is an equal opportunity employer and considers qualified applicants for employment without regard to race, color, creed, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, age, disability, or protected veteran status.Sumaria is a Full Lifecycle Engineering, Technical Services and Professional Solutions company in support of the Warfighter, supporting modernization, high end services and next generation capabilities in contested domains.
