Job description

Join our dedicated team at Feracon (a division of Rentokil Initial) as a Field Operator and be part of one of the largest nationwide rural pest control companies, dedicated to preserving the country's natural beauty! 

Feracon is a well-known pest control company operating in the Auckland region, with our head office based in Albany.

We specialise in ground pest control, targeting possums, Rabbits, Ungulates and various other predators..

This position is perfect for those who are passionate about conservation, excel in a fast-paced working environment, and take pride in providing exceptional service.

The role:

Working outdoors with a small team and exploring our stunning NZ landscapes while protecting our native environment and its species.

Your responsibilities will include working on farmland, in forests, and across various terrains, where you will set up and maintain bait stations to help reduce pest populations in these areas.

Location: 

Auckland and the surrounding areas, with occasional travel to other parts of the country as needed for support on various projects

Working Hours: 

45 hours, Monday to Friday, anytime from 7AM to 4PM, with the possibility of weekend work, overnight stays, and occasional travel away from home.

  • Requirements:

  • Fit and capable of carrying heavy loads over steep terrain
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather
  • Able to work away from home for the working week
  • A good communicator with a solid commitment to health and safety
  • Positive, reliable, and willing to learn
  • Able to work independently in the field and manage time efficiently
  • Eligible to work full-time in New Zealand
  • NZ driver's licence with a clean driving record 
  • Able to drive off-road vehicles
  • Clear criminal record
  • Preferred Certifications/ Licenses (Not mandatory)

  • Previous experience or qualifications in pest control or biosecurity work.
  • First Aid Certificate
  • ATV, LUV, or 4WD qualifications
  • GrowSafe or Controlled Substance Licence 
  • NZ Firearms Licence
  • Chainsaw use - NZQA unit standards or related training
  • Successful candidates must complete a pre-employment assessment, including medical, reference, and criminal background checks, meeting Rentokil Initial's satisfactory criteria.
