You’ll have ambition, talent and obviously, some key skills because for this vital role, we are looking for someone who can be a significant senior leader of the hotel team and bring to life the luxury InterContinental Brand in this iconic location.
Holding the prestigious address of One Queen Street, and amid sprawling laneway shopping and high end dining precincts will be the landmark 139 room InterContinental Auckland.
With spectacular unobstructed waterfront views of Waitematā Bay and frontage on Quay Street, this halo property will be the crown jewel amongst Auckland’s luxury accommodation offerings – and will open in September 2023.
Day to day
We are currently seeking expressions of interest from charming, confident and ambitious people who know what it takes to exceed guest expectations.
Being a part of this Pre-Opening team will see you setting this beautiful new hotel up ready to receive its first guests.
Depending on the role, this may include creating ways of working, receiving hotel goods and placing them into location, undertaking our IHG service training and participating in trial stays prior to opening day!
Subject to construction completion in mid 2023, we will be looking to fill the following roles with the following start dates 2023.
Approximately 3 months from Opening

+ Duty Managers and Night Manager
+ Housekeeping Supervisors
+ Food & Beverage Supervisor
Approximately 8 weeks from Opening
+ Room Attendants
+ Maintenance/Handyperson
+ Demi Chef/Chef De Partie
+ Kitchen Stewards
+ Finance Assistant/Accounts Supervisor
+ Food & Beverage Attendants
+ Assistant Night Manager
+ Public Area Attendants
+ Sales Executive
+ Guest Service Agents
+ Night Auditor
