The Opportunity

As an experienced Mechanical Design & Project Engineer with a passion for all things mechanical you will have a hands‑on approach to finding ingenious solutions.

This is an exciting opportunity to engage your engineering expertise to complex turn‑key projects in the industrial processing and bulk materials handling sectors.

What will I be doing?

Your role will be focused on the delivery of high‑quality solutions across the full scope of the design and build project lifecycle for a broad range of bespoke industrial bulk materials handling systems.

You will be involved from conceptual design through to engineering support for the final commissioning of solutions.

You will be working collaboratively within a small team of specialist engineers to design and deliver a range of bespoke, innovative, and commercially viable solutions.

There is a lot of variety in this role so you will not be short of technical challenges as well as the satisfaction of providing your support and expertise to more junior engineers as they gain greater experience.

What will you bring

  • Bachelors/Honours Mechanical Engineering Qualification
  • Skilled in 3D CAD (Ideally AutoCAD, Inventor)
  • 8 plus years demonstratable experience in bulk materials handling design (crushing, screening, conveying, or timber processing/grain/cement handling)
  • Experience in statutory design (pressure‑containing equipment) would be advantageous.

    This could include boilers, pressure vessels, tanks and silos.

  • Familiar with regulatory standards beneficial (AS/NZS1170, AS1210, NZSEE, NZS3404, AS1100)
  • Experience in concept and manufacturing processes and procedures (fabrication, assembly, quality inspection)
  • Be able to develop and maintain relationships with internal teams, suppliers, and customers
  • Be a pragmatic problem solver focused on finding solutions
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills including a high standard of written/spoken English language

Their Christchurch business includes a diverse product range with this role primarily being focused on the design, development and delivery of industrial bulk materials handling systems, pressure vessels, structures and tanks.
