Supporting our GMs, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Strategic Systems and Service Optimisation and Trade, Revenue and Compliance groups.
From managing complex calendars and coordinating travel arrangements to preparing important documents and liaising with key stakeholders, no two days will be the same in this fast-paced and challenging role.
You will even have the opportunity to take responsibility for a small range of internal projects.

To be successful in this role you will need to be able to demonstrate your ability to multitask, develop trusted relationships internally and externally; and be the 'go to' person for your groups.
You will also be part of a small Executive Assistant (EA) team and will help out and provide coverage for other EAs when required.
It goes without saying that you must have great attention to detail and a forward-thinking approach to planning, ensuring that you think of what is needed before others do.

To work for the New Zealand Customs Service | Te Mana Ārai o Aotearoa, you must be able to meet the following requirements:
Successful applicants are also required to pass a drug test and have a clear Police record.
(*) If you are a New Zealand Citizen or New Zealand Permanent Resident who has resided in New Zealand for the last 10 years but have been absent from New Zealand for periods of 6-9 months within the past 10 years, preferably in one or more of the following countries: either Australia, Canada, UK or the USA then you may still meet the requirements for a 'secret' clearance.
You will be required to provide overseas Police certificates for these periods spent outside of New Zealand.
