The opportunity

As the leading arts, entertainment, and events organisation, we secure conferences and events and collaborate with national and international clients.

This role will be supporting Auckland Conventions, Venues & Events in our meeting and conferencing business environment.


He kōrero mōu: About you


Reporting to the Manager - Event Delivery and working closely with the venue point of contact, one of the key purposes of this role is to plan, coordinate and assist in the delivery of events programmed and presented by Auckland Conventions, Venues and Events, with a focus on providing exceptional service to our clients.


As an Event Coordinator you will build and coordinate logistics, maintain relationships with a range of national and international clients, internal staff, and external suppliers to bring their event to life, at our extraordinary spaces with a focus on Auckland Zoo / Auckland Art Gallery and other venues as directed.


This is an incredibly exciting opportunity to be a part of the team that plans and delivers approximately 1,000 events every year.


Key responsibilities include

  • Planning, delivering, and monitoring event logistics within strict timelines and budgets, with a focus on providing exceptional customer experiences.
  • Monitoring and tracking event financials including raising quotes and invoices.
  • Liaising with clients and the Tataki Auckland Unlimited health and safety team to ensure health a safety documentation is received and approved within the required timeframes.
  • Providing reporting to management and contributing to team and business planning as required.
  • Participating in relevant projects with other teams or departments on a project basis to deliver high quality innovative activities as appropriate.

To be successful in this role, you will have experience in an event coordination role or similar.

Experience with conferences, meetings, or gala dinners is preferred.

You will bring your strong communication and relationship building skills, attention to detail, and have a passion for the conventions industry.



You will be deadline driven, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities while still retaining a high level of accuracy.

Please be aware: The role is 40-hours per week, generally Monday to Friday, however flexibility is required as there will be occasional work outside of business hours, including evenings and weekends.
