The Role
This is a new position in an existing team to support significant forward workload in our Parnell office.
The Construction Monitoring Engineer/Technician will be an integral part of our engineering team, assisting in monitoring and observing sites during the construction phase of projects to ensure compliance with design plans and specifications.
Have a keen willingness to learn and develop with a can do attitude.Has a basic sound appreciation for acting safely on sites, Health & Safety regulations and working in high-risk environments and on construction sites.Able to work productively both as part of a team and autonomously.Someone who is a great communicator, being able to clearly liaise and document (verbally and in writing) with members of our team and key stakeholders.Able to build rapport with a range of people with different personalities, cultures, and backgroundsSomeone who is focused and committed to professional excellence and developing their career.Able to work outdoors on sites across the Auckland region, and from time to time, New Zealand.Someone who acts in the interests of our client, Initia and the project as a whole.
About You
You have a solid technical foundation and the confidence to apply it practically.
You are aware of the boundaries of your experience, are not afraid to ask questions, and proactively contribute to solutions by offering input.
You value clear communication, collaboration, and using initiative to get the best outcomes.
Degree or Diploma in science, engineering, construction, or project managementConstruction monitoring in civil construction and/or earthworks (minimum 2 years)On-site inspections and testingReporting site observations and adviceAwareness of the need to evaluate and manage engineering risksUnderstanding of commercial risksChampion and support Health, Safety, and Wellbeing on-siteProficient user of technology including Microsoft software packages (we use our own inhouse apps for data recording and presentation).
Excellent communication, both written and verbal.Valid driver's license required for field-based work.
