This is an exciting opportunity for a driven and passionate Engineering Geologist to become part of our dynamic Auckland team.


This position focuses on supporting the Auckland region and contributing to the wider national geotechnical team.

You’ll be involved in site investigations, analysis, design input, and project delivery for a variety of local government and private sector clients.


The Role: 

  • Assist with geological and geotechnical investigations, including planning, logging, analysis, and reporting.
  • Support project delivery through fieldwork supervision, data interpretation, and preparation of technical reports.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of geotechnical solutions under the guidance of senior team members.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure smooth project coordination and delivery.
  • Work closely with colleagues across related disciplines such as structures, civil, water, and environmental teams.
  • Participate in health and safety planning and promote a strong safety culture in all site activities.
  • About you: 

  • 2–5 years’ postgraduate experience as an practicing Engineering Geologist or Geotechnical Engineer with exposure to New Zealand projects.
  • A degree in Geology, Engineering Geology, or a related discipline 
  • Experience in field logging, soil and rock description, site investigation management, and factual/interpretive reporting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an eye for practical and safe design solutions.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across disciplines.
  • Familiarity with relevant local standards, guidelines, and geological conditions across New Zealand.
