Job description

Experienced and motivated Maintenance Engineer wanted for busy HVAC Manufacturing Company in Mangere.

About Role:
Be responsible the continuous running of equipment and machinery.

Work with the maintenance team to improve production facilities, reduce the incidence of costly breakdowns, and develop strategies to increase overall reliability and safety of plant, personnel, and production processes.

Use computerised systems to oversee routine maintenance and organise repairs.

Responsibilities:

  • Response to and diagnose breakdowns of equipment & machinery
  • Fit new or repaired parts
  • Deal with emergencies, unplanned problems, and repairs
  • Work with PLCs and VSDs to control machinery
  • Provide preventative maintenance
  • Design maintenance strategies and procedures
  • Carry out quality inspections and scheduled checks on machinery and parts
  • Calibrate instruments
  • Assist with specification and installation of new or replacement plant and equipment
  • Allocate work to engineering assistants
  • Oversee contractors and technicians ensuring adherence to factory protocols and policies
  • Control maintenance tools, workshop maintenance store and equipment
  • Monitor and control maintenance costs
  • Hours are 6:45am to 3:15pm, 40 hours per week + an expectation of covering Saturday morning on a rota basis

  • About You:

  • Qualification in Electrical Engineering, or other formal maintenance qualifications.
  • Have a solid understanding and knowledge of mechanical engineering
  • Have an EWRB licence - This is a must!
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Have an understanding and knowledge of PLCs
  • Ability to work with little supervision and track multiple processes.
  • Outstanding organizational and coordination abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
