Urgent! Electrical & Control Systems Technician Job Opening In New Plymouth – Now Hiring Taranaki
Overview
Join our team at ANZCO Foods Waitara in this full-time, permanent role reporting to the Engineering Manager.
You'll be the go-to expert for low-voltage electrical, control and automation systems across our production floor, ensuring smooth operation of PLCs, HMIs, VFDs and refrigeration controls.
You will also coordinate external contractors to maintain safety, quality and uptime targets.
Responsibilities
Carry out inspections, testing and preventive maintenance on panels, cabling and switchgear
Troubleshoot using electrical schematics, control drawings and P&IDs
Program, design and commission PLCs (Rockwell Studio ****, Omron CX-One)
Configure and maintain HMIs (FactoryTalk) and Ignition SCADA
Monitor critical control equipment and support engineering projects
Supervise contractors and ensure compliance with site safety, hygiene and food standards
Skills and Experience
3-5 years' experience in food, beverage or FMCG manufacturing
Proven skills in Rockwell and Omron PLCs, plus FactoryTalk HMI systems
Strong knowledge of VFD drives (e.g., Allen-Bradley Powerflex, Danfoss) and refrigeration controls
Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams and control schematics
Experience managing contractors and enforcing compliance
