Electrical Calibration and Repair Lab TechnicianMetrotest is the leading specialist in Australia and New Zealand in its field for testing instruments and development of specific instruments and testing support systems.We are seeking an Electronic calibration Lab Technician to fulfill the role of calibrations and repairs in Metrotest's Calibrations Repairs and Service Department.
This is a rewarding career advancing position with the unique opportunity of working on some industry leading instruments.You would be calibrating and repairing a variety of testing instruments and associated products.
You would regularly be answering customer related technical inquiries.
You would possibly be performing training of others in the use and implementation of instruments and systems for clients.Applicants MUST be legally entitled to work in New Zealand (NZ) and hold a CURRENT WORK VISA which needs to be submitted with the application (if applicable).
This role is primarily based in Blenheim; however, there will be short periods where you may be expected to work further afield if required to train customers.RequirementsA basic electrical qualification and have a general understanding of electronics and electrical theory.Be eligible for or hold Electrical Workers Registration Board (EWRB) registration.Good computer skills and willing to learn new systems.Good communication skills and can be a team player.Attention to detail and interest/passion in component repairs and development.A professional and courteous manner to other employees and customersExcellent customer service skills with being able to interact with people to complete the job in many different situations.Training experience or willing to be trained to train others in use of instruments and systems.We are looking for someone who is:Extremely reliable and dependable.Able to work unsupervisedWell-presented and professional when dealing with clientsAble to periodically work away (preferable).
