Job description

Great opportunity for a highly experienced Drainage Excavator/Heavy Machine Operator to join our Civil Construction team in the Bay of Plenty and work on various civil infrastructure and roading projects across the region.


We are looking for someone wants to work hard for the team and who wants to show off their skills and still be humble.

About the role


  • Operate excavator and various items of plant when required
  • General labouring work to support the team when required
  • Using machinery in accordance with manufacturers instructions, with due care and attention in a safe manner
  • Weekly mechanical prestart inspections of plant and machinery (greasing, cleaning and maintenance)
  • Carry out variety of civil engineering tasks
  • Assess hazards and recommend and initiate solutions

  • This is a permanent full-time job ($30-40 per hour based on skills and experience, and guaranteed min 40 hours per week)


    About you


  • Deep drainage / trenching / dewatering experience
  • Full, clean Class 2 license, (or overseas equivalent)
  • WTR endorsements (or overseas equivalent)
  • Proven experience as an Operator (deep trench excavation, earthworks, waste/fresh water etc)
  • Willingness to muck in and put a hard day's work in
  • A desire to keep yourself and others safe in the workplace
  • SiteSafe or Construct Safe certificate (or ability to obtain it)
  • You're passionate about what you do and genuinely take pride in a job well.
  • This is a physical role, so you need to be fit and well to carry out your duties.


  • We are contracted to work all over the region, so you will need to be open to travel within the region.
