Are you ready to lead the engine room of digital operations at one of New Zealand’s most iconic organisations?

As our Digital Operations Team Lead, you’ll take on a DevOps Practice Lead-style role, guiding a mission-critical team, responsible for the performance, scalability, and security of our cloud platforms.

You’ll drive the evolution of our DevSecOps capability, leading from the front to uplift engineering maturity, embed CI/CD best practices, and build a culture of automation, resilience, and continuous improvement.

This is more than just a technical leadership role — it’s a chance to shape how we operate at scale — from driving cost optimisation and platform governance, to championing end-to-end monitoring, incident response, and disaster recovery.

 You’ll work alongside a passionate group of engineers, architects, and delivery leaders to ensure our platforms are secure, high-performing, and always ready for what’s next.

What you’ll be doing:
-       Leading a high-performing Digital Operations team to deliver secure, scalable, and reliable platform services — with 24/7 availability and top-tier incident response.
-       Lead, define and evolve DevSecOps practice at FSNI across multiple engineering squads, you’ll help uplift engineering practices, embed CI/CD processes, and foster a culture of automation, resilience, and continuous improvement
-       Owning cloud infrastructure operations including lifecycle management, capacity planning, cost optimisation, and governance frameworks.
-       Championing operational maturity — from DR planning and tooling, to backlog management and performance reporting.
-       Partnering with Engineering Managers, Product Owners, Security and Architects to embed operational excellence into everything we build and run.
-       Defining and evolving DevSecOps strategies, standards, and best practices across the organisation.
-       Establishing and leading a DevSecOps community of practice to share knowledge, drive innovation, and uplift capability across teams.
-       Coaching and mentoring engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
-       Leading vendor engagement and accountability, ensuring service commitments are met and relationships are productive.

- Driving strategic planning and governance around change management, release processes, and incident response frameworks.
