About the Role
The Delivery Manager – Dunedin Hospital Build operates at the delivery level, responsible for leading and managing teams to execute technology projects that support Health New Zealand's operational priorities and is attached to the Digital Facilities Digital Programmes.
This role ensures the effective design, planning, and implementation of technology solutions, working closely with key internal and external stakeholders to deliver projects on time and in line with business needs.
The Delivery Manager oversees delivery teams within a complex technology environment that supports multiple users and critical applications across New Zealand.
The role is accountable for maintaining delivery excellence, ensuring alignment with strategic goals, and driving high-quality project outcomes.
A critical aspect of this role is managing the balance between efficient project execution and adapting to the evolving digital landscape.
The Delivery Manager fosters continuous improvement and aligns delivery practices with Health New Zealand's broader digital transformation objectives, contributing to impactful and sustainable technology outcomes.
About the Team/Service/ Location
The Delivery Manager reports to the Delivery Lead and sits within the Digital Delivery function under the broader Digital Services group.
This team is dedicated to achieving delivery excellence by managing and supporting the execution of technology projects that align with Health New Zealand's operational priorities.
The function collaborates closely with regional Digital Directors, Digital Health Strategy and Design, Digital Applications and Products, and Digital Operations to deliver nationally prioritised initiatives that meet organisational objectives and stakeholder expectations.
Through this coordinated and outcome-focused approach, the team ensures technology delivery is efficient, transparent, and aligned with the broader digital transformation goals, ultimately supporting equitable and effective health services across Aotearoa.
About you
You are an experienced delivery professional with a strong background in leading and managing technology projects within complex environments.
You bring a pragmatic, results-focused approach and excellent leadership skills, enabling you to guide teams to deliver projects on time, within scope, and aligned with business needs.
Comfortable working collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, you are adept at managing competing priorities and driving continuous improvement to achieve high-quality outcomes.
You will also have the following skills and experience to support your success in the role:
* Over 5 years' experience managing technology projects or programs in complex IT environments.
* Proven success in delivering projects on time and within scope, working with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels.
* Experience with Agile methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban.
* Strong ability to manage relationships with technology vendors and service providers, including cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
