Overview
As part of the Digital team, Cyber & Identity provides assurance that the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information assets and systems are maintained.
This includes security governance, architecture design input, risk identification and management, and vulnerability assessment.
Air New Zealand is a large and complex organisation, and the cyber security team plays a key role in keeping the business safe and secure.
We are looking for security experts who can navigate ambiguity, take initiative, bring strong technical expertise, and build trusted relationships with diverse stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
Relationship Management: Building strong stakeholder relationships with internal business partners to become a trusted advisor who provides actionable cybersecurity insights.
Technical Expert: Lead Air New Zealand as a subject matter expert in cyber security, including AI and associated technologies such as GenAI, LLMs, MCP and Agents.
Transformation: Support the delivery of a cyber security step change within Air NZ's cyber security function.
Qualifications and skills
A broad range of security skills in areas such as security architecture (including cloud security architecture), security operations, security risk management, accreditation, cyber incident response, certification, security governance and management.
The ability to identify risks, recommend mitigations, and clearly communicate with stakeholders to deliver outcomes of value to the organisation.
Proven experience in defining and delivering a security strategy, including enterprise security strategy, assurance roadmap, and security governance.
Experience delivering cyber security change within a large and complex organisation, focusing on delivery through strong stakeholder relationships as a trusted business advisor.
Excellent technical skills with a deep understanding of system design, networking, identity and access management, and cloud services.
Previous experience with code development is an advantage.
A problem-solving mindset that enables viewing complex problems from multiple perspectives, collaborating with teams to understand the problem and rapidly develop solutions.
A strong focus on continual learning; willingness to explore new technologies and their applications for the business.
Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline.
