We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person with plenty of initiative to help provide a high quality, friendly service to all visitors to the South Taranaki isite Visitor Centre which is open seven days a week.
About the Role - This role is responsible for providing a high-quality customer service experience to South Taranaki isite and AA customers by dealing with district wide customer telephone enquiries, transactions and counter enquiries on behalf of Council in a prompt and efficient manner and provide a balanced and unbiased view of the district's amenities and attractions.
This is a temporary 4 month fixed-term part-time position working 16.75 hours per week which may include weekend work and has a requirement to be available to work public and school holidays.
There is an opportunity to work additional hours from time to time to cover annual and sick leave.
Monday - Thursday 11.30am - 2.30pm (½ hr lunch break)
Sunday 9.45am - 3.00pm (½ hr lunch break)

This is a busy role and is a key part of Council's front-line service.
This job offers variety plus and is responsible for assisting visitors to the centre with local information, travel and accommodation bookings, souvenir sales, box office ticket sales and AA services.
and provide current information about services (including AA services), local attractions and amenities and providing customers with relevant information on AA related services and products including but not limited to vehicle registrations, road user charges, driver license testing, change of ownerships, Kiwi Access Cards, IRD verifications and much more.
Maintaining promotional material on coming events and distributing throughout Taranaki as required, reconciling invoices and returns for all agencies of the isite and meeting both AA and NZTA requirements regarding achievement of a pass rate for training and product knowledge is also a requirement of this role.
About You - Great customer service ethic is a must; you are a great team player with a Level 4 Certificate in Tourism or other isite NZ recognised qualification who has a can-do attitude and your passion for helping people gets you excited about going to work each day.
You will have demonstrated experience in a service related, customer interfacing role, strong local knowledge of South Taranaki including visitor attractions and activities and an understanding and appreciation of the Treaty of Waitangi and subsequent cultural issues.
