OverviewCustomer Service Specialist - Part-time - Fixed TermKiwiRail Picton, Marlborough, New ZealandAbout the roleWe have great summer opportunities for motivated Customer Service Specialists to join our team on a part-time, fixed-term basis, looking after our Interislander and Scenic Train passengers and their luggage.
Ideally, we need you on board from October/November 2025 to end of April 2026, or earlier by negotiation.You'll not only provide exceptional customer service delivery to our passengers, you will also:Coordinate passengers and their bookingsAssist with ticketing and check-in services for both passengers, their vehicles and commercial vehiclesEnsure passenger's luggage is well looked after and properly labelledProvide general travel advice and information to our passengersWhat you will bring / QualificationsBe able to think on your feet in a fast-paced environmentHave a strong customer focus with the ability to relate to people at all levelsHave a sense of urgency and work with speed and accuracyBe a great problem solverMaintain your composure and help keep passengers calm in high stress situationsHave impeccable attention to detail and a talent for multi-taskingHave exemplary communication and interpersonal skillsHave a moderate level of physical fitness as lifting of passenger's luggage is requiredWhat's in it for youPart-time gives you work/life balance – a chance to earn and still enjoy the summer weatherGreat experience to add to your CVFantastic penalty rates (double time on Sun, time and a half on Sat, and time and a quarter for weekday night shifts)Application detailsApplications close: 19 October 2025Please note we will be shortlisting and interviewing as we advertise, so be quick with your application!
