About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and customer-focused Credit Officer to join their Finance team.

This role is all about managing customer accounts, collecting overdue payments, reducing credit risk, and supporting strong cash flow.

You'll work closely with customers and internal teams, balancing firm credit control with excellent service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of customer accounts.
  • Contact customers by phone and email to resolve payment issues.
  • Negotiate and follow up on payment arrangements.
  • Deliver professional and respectful customer service.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and payments.
  • Monitor credit risk and escalate issues where needed.
  • Achieve monthly collection targets and reduce overdue debt.
  • Work with internal departments to resolve disputes efficiently.

Skills and Experience

  • Excellent communication skills - written and verbal.
  • Strong customer service skills, with the ability to handle challenging conversations.
  • Previous success meeting collection targets.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; ERP system experience (SAP, Oracle, etc.) is desirable.
