About the job:

We’re seeking an experienced Contract Engineer to support the profitable and sustainable growth of our Water division, aligning with Citycare Water’s vision, values, and strategic objectives – including growth, innovation, efficiency, and excellence – by ensuring projects are executed efficiently.
Working closely with the divisional, operations and business development managers, you will be responsible for planning, scheduling and coordinating the technical and management aspects of projects, as well as maintaining strong relationships with our clients.

This may include:

  • Helping to prepare work proposals including concept design and costings in accordance with Citycare pricing structure and risk profile.

  • Providing assistance with the supervision of and day-day management of projects and supervision of specified projects by staff and others.

  • Building and maintaining effective working relationships with Watercare & Auckland Council and new clients as required.

  • Supplying accurate reports to Contract Manager on actual vs.

    programmed achievements.

  • Supporting with resolving any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise
  • Having a detailed understanding of specific contract documents – applicable to services to be delivered.

Your passion for innovation and efficiency, along with your alignment with Citycare Water’s values and commitment to upholding Te Mana O te Wai, will ensure your success in this role.

What you’ll need:

  • Civil Engineering qualification or similar is required for this role, as well as appropriate technical and Project Management qualifications.

  • Ideally you will have 18 months, to 2 years’ experience in a relevant role.

    Knowledge of the Auckland Wastewater Reticulation network is advantageous.

  • Our ideal candidate will have the proven ability to set goals and achieve targets, as well as the ability to drive and maintain operational improvements and efficiencies.

  • You will have experience leading, managing and motivating a team – as well as strong communication skills.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data to inform decision making.

  • Our ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering projects on time, within budget and to specifications.

  • It is crucial that you have a high level of commitment to HSE and quality, as well as an alignment with Citycare Water’s values.

  • A full class 1 driver’s license.
