We're currently seeking a Community Support Worker to join a vibrant home supporting young adult males.About The RoleYou'll be working in a home where the residents are active, expressive, and full of personality.
They love swimming, gardening, music, and kapa haka — and they thrive with support that's consistent, respectful, and empowering.
You'll work on a fixed roster, providing assistance with:Community participation and socialisingPersonal cares and daily living tasksWork or education opportunitiesSkills & ExperienceWe're looking for someone with:Empathy and understanding of disability and behavioural challenges.
Experience with challenging behaviours is preferred, but not essentialThe energy to keep up with active individualsCalmness under pressure and the ability to help others feel groundedStrong communication skills with families, colleagues, and the people you supportWillingness to assist with personal care and daily livingExcellent, clear, understandable verbal and written EnglishThe Ideal Candidate Will HaveAn interest in attaining a Community Support Worker Level 3 qualification (we'll support you!)Experience in disability, mental health, or behavioural supportA full NZ driver's licenceAbility to pass a NZ police checkThe ability to use a computer effectively, including programs such as Microsoft Suite (Word, Email etc.), and Intranet.RequirementsIf you are a non-resident applying for this role you must meet the following INZ Level 3 skill requirements to be considered:at least 3 years of relevant work experience, ora relevant qualification on the New Zealand Qualifications and Credentials Framework (NZQCF) — this must be at least a level 4 qualification for a role at skill level 3, or a diploma for a role at skill level 2.Why Spectrum Care?
