The Community Support Worker is responsible for ensuring that disabled people can live in their own homes and participate in their own community by accessing opportunities of their choosing as detailed in their Personal Plan.
The support provided will promote confidence, skill building, independence, quality of life and inclusion within the family / whanau and the wider community.Our organisation takes a social, rather than medical approach, supporting disabled people to live their best lives.
We are guided by the Enabling Good Lives principles, shifting power and authority back to disabled people and their families, to increase choice and control in their lives.About you:We are looking for people who can demonstrate the following personal skills and attributes, and professional skills and knowledge:Initiative, is reliable and flexible.A positive attitude and a talent for developing supportive interactions.Ability to relate well to a diverse arrange of people.Experienced in supporting disabled people with high and complex needs would be a distinct advantage.Have strong connections to the community.Can work independently, but also in a team environment.A willingness to work with people we support to achieve their goals.On the job learning, ongoing support to achieve L3 and L4 Health and Wellbeing Certificates.Why us?
