We are currently seeking experienced and qualified Support Workers for our 24/7 spinal injury complex care service user.
Responsibilities
Working closely with our service user to provide support as they go about their daily tasks
Assisting with personal cares (showering, bathing)
Assisting with household management and meal preparation
Assisting with accessing the community
Bowel, Bladder, and Catheter cares
Moving and handling hoists and manual transfers
Medication support
Ensuring the service user's comfort, safety, and well-being at all times
Job Location: Christchurch, Canterbury
Employment Type: Part-Time
We offer a range of employment opportunities including casual, part-time, and full-time positions, which will be discussed further during the recruitment process.
Days of work: As this is community-based work, 24/7 rotating rosters would be involved.
Your preferred hours of work can be discussed during the recruitment process.
We are looking for dedicated support workers that are comfortable covering the following shifts: 6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm, 10pm-6am, between Monday - Sunday.

The candidate would have (Candidate Pre-Requisites):
Understanding of spinal injury care protocols and procedures is advantageous
Ideally prior personal care experience is preferred
Previous experience in complex cares (for example bowel & catheters) is preferred (comprehensive training will be provided)
Ability to work effectively within a team and independently when required
A Level 3 or Level 4 Health and Wellbeing qualification is beneficial (comprehensive training can be provided)
Access to a car and ability to drive independently (a full New Zealand Driver's License is a must)
Flexibility to work on a rotating roster
Legal right to work in New Zealand is a must
Ability to drive a mobility van

Pay Band: $***** - $***** per hour (This is based on the Pay Equity Settlement **** – hourly pay rates based on equivalency of Healthcare Qualifications assessed under Pay Equity).
