We're on a mission to transform the way Aotearoa thinks about cloud - by keeping our data, human capability, and cloud spend local and sovereign.

This role isn’t just a job, it’s a calling for someone who wants to contribute directly to New Zealand’s cloud scene and our economic growth.

You will work with multiple teams within the company to continue to build and run our hyperscale cloud.

What you will be doing:

  • Working in our Hardware and Networks Team, which is responsible for the life-cycle of Catalyst Cloud's public and private cloud offerings.

  • Blending expertise in Systems and Network Administration, IT Architecture, and Site Reliability Engineering to build and support reliable, scalable cloud environments.

  • Working with hardware (the Cloud is just somebody else's computers after all, we're the “somebody”!) running Linux (Ubuntu/Debian).

  • Working with network switches, such as Pica8's PicOS, NVIDIA's Cumulus Linux and Arista's EOS.

  • Delving into the guts of OpenStack to support our other engineering teams.

  • Troubleshooting issues in a complex, dynamic and interesting environment.

The role is in Wellington, New Zealand, but an ability to travel within New Zealand is required, as is having a driver's license and own car.

The role is fixed term, initially for four months, but it might be extended by another two.
