Redwood Engineering is a multi-disciplinary engineering team with offices in Trail and Nelson.
We are a small, locally owned company that has been in operation for over 20 years.

The Redwood offices are located in the West Kootenays: An area nestled in the southeastern part of British Columbia that offers an idyllic blend of natural beauty and vibrant community life.

Job Description
As the successful candidate, you will begin working in the Trail office where you will be responsible for the detailed design of varying types of projects constructed with reinforced concrete, structural steel, timber, and masonry.
Duties include analysis and calculations, interpretation of codes, preparation of drawings with technicians, and preparation of specifications.
You will also perform civil/structural assessments, inspections and field reviews, prepare reports and estimates, and coordinate the activities of other team members to ensure projects are completed within allotted schedules and budgets.
Additionally, you will ensure that project deliverables meet high-quality standards and work directly with our clients, continuing to build strong relationships with them.
Many projects involve working on facilities that can be 100+ years old allowing you to take a deep dive into the engineering history of the area!

Compensation and Benefits:
Annual base salary: $90,000–$110,000, determined by factors such as education and prior work experience.
Annual performance bonuses.

Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
Registered (or eligible for registration) as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in British Columbia
A valid class 5 BC driver's license
Excellent communication skills (spoken and written English)
Ability to collaborate with team members in a multi-disciplinary environment
Technical competence and strong attention to detail
Ability to work within budgets and schedules
Ability to read drawings
Additional Assets
Experience working with the BC Building Code
Experience in designing with steel, concrete, timber and/or masonry
Industrial structural analysis experience
Experience in a consulting environment
Experience in a construction setting
Experience in Microsoft Office, S-Frame, and AutoCAD
