 The Role | Mō tēnei tūranga mahi 
 Reporting to the Team Coach, our casual roles provide cover for permanent Support Workers – the hours of work are not regular and are offered when they become available.
The shifts include 7:00am-3:30pm/2:00pm-10:30pm, Monday-Sunday based in Waihi.
 - Support people connect back with their community 
 - Support with cooking, cleaning, gardening and helping with everyday household tasks 
 - Assisting with budgeting and independent daily living 
 - Medication support where required 
 - Attending appointments and advocating for the people we support 
 - A current full New Zealand driver’s licence.
 - A current New Zealand first aid certificate or be prepared to obtain one.
 - Hold either the Level 4 New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (or a recognised equivalent) or be willing to commence study towards this qualification within six months of starting with us.
We offer our staff significant support to complete this study.
 - Experience in working with young people and an understanding of trauma-informed care.
 - Able to be flexible and available for varying shifts.
 - Both de-escalation skills and relationship building skills.
