This job requires performing:
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Main Responsibilities:
- Studying drawings and specifications to determine materials required, dimensions, and installation procedures;
- Accurately measure, cut, and shape wood, metal, or other materials according to project requirements;
- Operate hand tools and power tools( including nail guns), and production machinery safely and efficiently in line with operating procedures;
- Use manufacturing drawings and technical blueprints to guide all carpentry tasks.
- Operate production machinery in line with operating procedures and safety standards;
- Ensure the work area is clean and tidy at all times.
- Store merchandise in a safe manner.
- Order and select appropriate timbers and materials, and prepare layouts as required.
- Strictly adhere to workplace safety regulations and best practices to minimize risks and injuries.
- Other relevant works assigned by the employer.
Teamwork:
- Work as part of a team to create a workplace that is highly cohesive and productive;
- Assist with a variety of projects in line with business requirements;
- Actively participate in appropriate training, team events, and meetings;
- Offer assistance to others as required.
Job requirement:
Applicant must meet the following requirements to apply for this job
- At least 2 years of relevant work experience OR NZQF Level 4 qualification is required.
- Able to work independently as well as in a team
- Ability to read plans and specifications
- Working under pressure
- Positive attitude and good work ethic
- Be physically fit and able to work on different work sites within Auckland.
- Always look for ways to improve production practices and processes.
- Follow and apply WHS standards and practices
- Live the company values on a consistent basis
- Have a strong safety awareness.
