Full Job Description

We’re looking for a motivated Cadet / Workshop Assistant to join our busy team.

You’ll receive hands‑on training across all areas of workshop operations, including welding, assembly, painting, and dispatch.

Perfect for someone eager to learn and grow in the engineering and fabrication industry.

This is an entry‑level, full‑time, permanent position offering work from Monday to Friday, 6:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with general workshop duties and support trades staff
  • Learn and be trained across painting, welding, assembly, and dispatch
  • Painting prep and cleaning work areas
  • Operate a forklift (experience preferred but not essential)
  • Follow job cards and maintain quality standards
  • Keep the work area clean and organised

What We Are Looking For

  • A great attitude and willingness to learn — the most important thing!
  • Physically fit (able to lift up to 25 kg)
  • Good attention to detail and able to follow instructions
  • Reliable, punctual, and organised
  • Forklift experience is a bonus
  • Able to be on your feet all day (45 hours per week)

NZ residency is required; visa sponsorship is not available, so overseas candidates will not be considered.
