Permanent, full-time opportunity based in Hamilton

Monday to Friday in the office (40-hour week)

Workday options: 7.30am – 4pm or 8am – 4.30pm

Travel to other depots within the UNI region will be required at times, during work hours.

Our Business Support role sits within the infrastructure team and ensures smooth day-to-day operations to a range of leaders and staff across the team.

We are seeking a candidate who enjoys working with numbers, as they will be accountable for a range of financial tasks.

This role covers a wide range of responsibilities as outlined in the position description.

From managing vendor invoicing to coordinating compliance checks and supporting depot logistics, you'll be the go-to for essential processes that keep our teams moving.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, takes initiative, and thrives in a busy, collaborative environment.

Your work will directly support safety, financial accuracy, and operational excellence - enabling our teams to focus on delivering reliable rail services across New Zealand.

  • Experienced in administrative or business support roles (3–4 years preferred)
  • Skilled with finance systems like SAP or Maximo, including invoicing and purchase orders
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
  • Detail-oriented and organised, with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Comfortable communicating with a wide range of people and familiar with health and safety compliance processes
  • Ability to work to deadlines and juggle conflicting priorities with ease
