We’re looking for a resilient and results-driven Business Development Manager to drive growth in the Auckland/Northland region.

This newly created role offers a unique opportunity to grow Farmlands’ footprint across the region, with a strong focus on solar energy solutions through Farmlands Flex, alongside broader agribusiness offerings.

Reporting to the Head of Key Accounts and Strategic Partnerships, you’ll be responsible for:


  • Driving new business acquisition across agri-solutions, with emphasis on solar energy

  • Growing market share and deepening customer relationships

  • Maximising sales, margin and long-term value for Farmlands

Location: This role can be based anywhere in Auckland/Northland and a vehicle is provided as a tool of trade.

You’ll be a natural hunter with a passion for rural innovation and sustainability.

To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:


  • Proven experience in business development, ideally with exposure to solar energy solutions

  • Strong B2B sales skills and a track record in cold sales environments

  • Excellent relationship management and stakeholder engagement abilities

  • A broad understanding of the rural sector and its evolving energy needs

  • Tenacity, adaptability, and the drive to turn challenges into opportunities

Preference will be given to candidates with solar BDM experience, particularly in rural or agricultural contexts.
