Join a nationally significant project shaping the future of border management in Aotearoa.
Are you an experienced business analyst ready to support the discovery, design and delivery of a nationally significant regulatory change?
Join the New Zealand Customs Service and play a key role in delivering this initiative.
About the Role | Mo tenei turanga mahi
As Business Analyst, you will work on a variety of aspects of this significant regulatory change project.
You'll work in a dynamic, multi-stakeholder environment as part of a project team driving towards successful implementation.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
Engaging with internal and external stakeholders.
Providing high quality analysis of current state.
Documenting business requirements for the proposed changes.
Designing future state operating models.
Supporting stakeholders and the project team with delivery and embedding of the changes.
This is a fixed term contract for 12 months and you will report to the Manager, Business Improvement and Innovation.
The salary range for this role is $106,618 to $137,746.

You are a skilled business analyst with an understanding of regulatory change.
You thrive in dynamic environments and excel at stakeholder engagement and coordination.
You'll Bring
A qualification or equivalent experience in business analysis.
Demonstrated experience in successfully delivering business improvement or service design solutions that deliver tangible benefits.
Experience with quantitative and qualitative data analysis, tools, methodologies, and presentation styles.
Experience in a wide range of technical and functional requirements gathering.
Strong problem-solving capability, including ability to collaboratively identify problems, and implement innovative solutions that align with strategic direction.
Excellent communication skills both verbally and written with the ability to communicate complex information to wide-ranging audiences at all levels, and able to translate technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
Experience designing and delivering regulatory change in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment would be highly desirable.

To work for the New Zealand Customs Service, you must be able to meet the following requirements:
Be a New Zealand Citizen or New Zealand Permanent Resident
Residing in New Zealand at the time of application
Have resided continuously in New Zealand for the last 5 years*
If you are a New Zealand Citizen or New Zealand Permanent Resident who has resided in New Zealand for the last 5 years but have been absent from New Zealand for periods of 6-9 months within the past five years, preferably in one or more of the following countries: either Australia, Canada, UK or the USA then you will be required to provide overseas Police certificates for these periods spent outside of New Zealand.
