About the role:
Based in Hokitika and reporting to our Head of Automation, we are looking for an experienced Automation Engineer who is a strong problem solver and a great team-player with a depth of knowledge in automation/electrical/process instrumentation systems, networks and process control software.
You will be well versed in the installation, maintenance and calibration of industrial instruments and possess a passion for optimising plant efficiency.
Responsibilities include:
The design, installation, setup, programming and testing of systems/processes/machineryAbility to use Honeywell DCS systems to perform daily tasks as required.Be able to use Rockwell systems and AVEVA InTouch and System Platform.Optimising plant efficiency by minimising downtime and minimising the R&M costsContributing to process improvement projects, including designing and developing new control systems, as well as overseeing the maintenance and modification of existing systemsAssisting in the planning of Capital Projects and working with the Site Engineers and Contractors to deliver on projectsLiaising with the Electrical team on site work and projectsAssisting with the management of asset reliability risksEnsuring strong relationships are built and maintained across the businessEnsuring a focus on best practice Health & Safety and qualityCreating and maintaining documentation and manuals for functional projects.Keeping abreast of the latest developments in industrial automation technology Skills and Experience:
A relevant degree or equivalent in automation or process engineering (instrumentation)Minimum 5 years' experience in the food manufacture experience, experience in dairy is preferable.Some experience with Honeywell programming and system.Additional training in: SQL, PLC programming, VB programming, RoboticsFormal training in Industrial Measurement and Control (IMC) is advantageousBe self-motivated and hands-onHave strong communication skillsWork effectively with cross-functional teams to deliver a variety of projectsDemonstrate sound problem-solving and analytical skillsShow initiative and be comfortable working both independently and collaboratively With an exciting range of automation projects currently planned, this is a fantastic time to join a company that takes pride and passion in everything we do.
