Associate Geotechnical Engineer

As an Associate Geotechnical Engineer based in our Tāmaki / Aucklandoffice, you will help shape and deliver innovative geotechnical solutions across a variety of challenging projects, influencing infrastructure development and contributing to resilient, sustainable designs.

  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Bring your technical eminence and geotechnical expertise to deliver innovative, practical solutions across projects of all sizes and complexities, working in diverse markets including commercial/industrial building, land development, transportation, and municipal infrastructure.

  • Lead and manage geotechnical investigations, risk assessments, and design recommendations while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

  • Build trusted relationships with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders, embracing technical challenges, tight deadlines, and changing expectations with resilience and enthusiasm.

  • Lead, develop, and mentor a team by communicating effectively, sharing knowledge, and taking accountability, creating an environment where people feel supported to learn, grow, and collaborate.

  • Navigate complexity and think strategically to bring clarity and direction to challenging projects.

  • What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor of Engineering (Civil or Geotechnical)

  • 12–15 years of experience

  • Consultancy experience and a growth mindset

  • Strong local experience in geotechnical analysis and design, with expertise in settlement, foundations, slope stability, and retaining wall design

  • An understanding of and experience with Te Ao Māori is highly desirable
