Our team experiences all aspects of the hospitality industry, gaining unique skills that develop their careers and can be transferred to future opportunities.The Assistant Operations Manager – Glacier Explorers is a key member of the Activities leadership team, responsible for managing and training Glacier Explorer Skippers and ensuring memorable guest experiences on the Tasman Lake.Using a blend of passion for the outdoors, people communication & leadership skills, environmental knowledge, as well as health & maritime safety, the Assistant Operations Manager plays a crucial role in our guests' experience on the Tasman Lake, where no two days are the same.What will you bring to the role?
Experience in managing and leading a team in a tourism or outdoor settingPrevious boating or water sports experience with the ability to become an approved trainer for Glacier Explorers in accordance with Maritime NZConfidence in ensuring health and safety standards and protocols are followed at all times, with first aid experience preferredNZ driver's license or entitlement to drive in NZ with class 2 or P endorsement is preferredA passion for the outdoors, on or off the waterExperience managing groups and strong public speaking and communication skillsA strong sense of responsibility, commitment, and reliability, with flexibility to work across different tours and productsFlexible with a can-do attitude and eagerness to learnThe role and benefits:Full-time, permanent position, minimum 80 hours per fortnight.
