OverviewThe Assistant Director of Golf is an important role at Royal Auckland and Grange Golf Club (RAGGC), supporting the Director of Golf and working closely with the Golf Manager to ensure the smooth delivery of all golf operations.
This front-facing, member-facing position helps oversee the golf shop, competitions, outside services, and practice facilities, while contributing to the ongoing growth of the Club's golf programs.

The club has pursued strategic initiatives to enhance the golfing experience and seeks a visionary leader to continue driving its legacy forward.Position overviewReporting to the Director of Golf and collaborating with the Golf Manager, this is a highly visible, front-facing leadership role within the Golf team.
The Assistant Director of Golf will:Lead, mentor, and support the golf operations team (shop staff, PGA professionals, outside operations, and trainees).
Oversee the planning and delivery of member competitions, tournaments, and corporate events.Collaborate with the Golf Services Manager to ensure a world-class member and guest experience from arrival to on-course and practice facilities.Partner with other departments (hospitality, course, administration) to ensure seamless, high-quality events.Support retail operations and member services with the Shop Manager and Supervisor.Contribute to budgeting, reporting, and long-term planning.This role is suitable for an ambitious PGA Professional or experienced golf operator who is passionate about member service and event excellence and offers genuine career progression, including potential advancement to Director of Golf in the future.Candidate qualifications and experienceWe are looking for a motivated professional with:Leadership experience in golf operations.Strong knowledge of golf operations, tournament administration, and member services.Experience with Golf Genius, DotGolf (or similar), and POS systems.Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.A member-first mindset with a passion for service excellence.Legal right to work in New Zealand (citizenship, residency, or valid work visa).
