About Us

The Waipā District is one of the fastest growing regions in New Zealand.

To prepare for this growth, and to welcome more residents to our district, we have over $300 million worth of water, wastewater and stormwater infrastructure projects to deliver over the next 10 years, including treatment plants, new reservoirs and reticulation renewals - it's an exciting time to be in Water Services at Waipa District Council!

The Role

The opportunity has arisen for a newly created role of Asset Management Team Leader to join our Water Services business unit.

The Asset Management Team Leader's role is to lead Waipā District Council's Asset Management Team to maintain and improve our asset data and asset performance understanding in order to deliver high quality, fit for purpose infrastructure plans and renewals programmes, and successfully manage new connections to our network.

In order to achieve those objectives, the successful candidate will need to work closely with our Waters Strategic Lead & Programme Manager, aligning our asset management approach to our overall strategic direction, the operations team leader to best integrate and support operational experience and maintenance activities and have the ability to support and mentor others within the asset team to grow their technical and leadership skills.

What Are We Looking For?

Our successful candidate will have an engineering or technical qualification plus a minimum of ten years' experience of Engineering, Planning or other relevant field, with a minimum 5 years' experience leading a team in a senior role..

They will also be a strong communicator and relationship builder and have a desire to shape Waipā's infrastructure for the good of our communities, now and in the future.
