**About the Role**Hawke's Bay Fallen Soldiers Memorial Hospital is searching for consultant anaesthetists to join our cohesive, friendly and supportive team.The successful candidates would join a team of around 30 anaesthetic SMOs and 11 anaesthesia trainees to enhance the Anaesthetic Department according to their training and experience, and would also participate in the out-of-hours service.
We have a collegial work environment with a range of surgical and medical specialties serving a diverse patient population.We are committed to ongoing education and improvement of our service and actively support junior staff and interdisciplinary team education.
The Department is approved by ANZCA for 2 years of vocational training in anaesthesia.To review the position profile click **About the Team/Service/ Location**Hawke's Bay Fallen Soldiers' Memorial Hospital is situated in Hastings on the east coast of the North Island of New Zealand.
It is a large, secondary level, 400-bed accredited public facility providing acute and elective care for a region of over 176,000 people.
The work of the Department is varied and often challenging.
Hawke's Bay has experienced significant population growth and demographic changes over the last ten years.
A wide range of surgical, medical, oncology and radiological services are offered and we have outgrown many of our facilities and now require considerable expansion.

**About you*** You will possess either FANZCA or an equivalent qualification that would lead to specialist registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ) and have an ongoing commitment to providing a top-quality service to our community.
* Competency with te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth* Experience in projects/initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Matauranga Maori and Kaupapa Maori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.
