About the role

We’re on a mission to responsibly harness the power of Artificial Intelligence (AI) — and we’re looking for a curious, hands‑on AI Technology Senior Analyst to help us do it.

You’ll work across AUT to trial emerging AI technologies, identify opportunities, and build people’s confidence and capability.

Most importantly, you’ll help shape an ethical, people‑centred AI culture grounded in AUT’s values of tika, pono, and aroha.

  • Dive into new and emerging AI tools through experimentation and rapid prototyping.

  • Design frameworks to evaluate AI solutions for safety, effectiveness, and responsible adoption.

  • Lead AUT’s annual AI maturity assessment and co‑create roadmaps to build readiness and capability.

  • Partner with academic, professional, and technical teams to identify practical and meaningful use cases.

  • Pilot tools that assess real‑world effectiveness, risk, and cultural fit for AUT.

  • Translate technical insights into clear advice, engaging presentations, and training resources.

  • Collaborate with ICT and legal specialists to ensure data governance, cybersecurity, and ethics are at the forefront.

  • Stay connected to global AI developments and share insights across AUT’s community.

About you

You’re driven by curiosity, creativity, and purpose.

You enjoy learning fast, testing ideas, and helping others understand and embrace change.

You Bring

  • A genuine fascination with emerging technologies and how they can serve people.

  • A hands‑on, experimental approach to learning and problem solving.

  • Strong analytical and communication skills — able to bridge technical and human perspectives.

  • The confidence to translate complex concepts into clear, trusted guidance.

  • 5‑7 years’ experience in product management, technical business analysis, or digital innovation.

  • A track record of quickly learning new tools and empowering others to use them effectively.

About us

At AUT, we embrace innovation with integrity.

Guided by tika (doing what’s right), pono (being authentic), and aroha (caring for others), we’re shaping a future where technology enhances human potential — not replaces it.

What we offer

  • A dynamic role with strategic impact across a future‑focused university.

  • Support for your professional growth — including a personal development fund.

  • Generous leave allowances and free AUT gym membership.

  • A diverse, inclusive, and purpose‑driven workplace where your ideas can make a difference.

Join us and help AUT shape a people‑centred AI future — one built on insight, integrity, and meaningful relationships.
