Urgent! Team Leader - Information Management Position in Manawatu-wanganui - Confidential
Whangarei District Council is busy implementing changes and working on new initiatives aimed at better serving our community.
To support us in this exciting phase in our development as an organisation we are looking for an experienced leader to provide leadership and advice on the development of Council's document and information management policies, process, and systems.The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the team responsible for developing and implementing appropriate monitoring and reporting on Council's document and information management practices as well as ensuring the effective operation of the Council's information and document management processes & systems in support of business objectives, including:Responses to requests made under the Local Government Official Information & Meetings Act **** (LGOIMA) or the Privacy Act ****Archives managementRetention & DisposalTraining and user support (EDRMS & Information Management)Quality AssuranceSystem developments, maintenance and upgrades.If you think you have what it takes to be successful in this role and are keen for us to consider your application, you will need to be able to demonstrate the following attributes:Experience in a leadership role within the public sector or information management sectorUnderstanding or ability to develop understanding quickly of relevant legislation eg; Public Records Act, LGIOMA, LGA, Privacy ActAbility to successfully lead a team, motivating and mentoring staffAbility to think critically and develop creative solutions to problemsAbility to work methodically and efficiently and to set and meet appropriate standards and deadlinesAbility to communicate technical information clearly with a varied and broad range of stakeholdersAbility to work effectively with others through development of strong working relationships and provision of clear well thought out adviceAt Whangarei District Council we take our reputation as a lifestyle destination seriously and consider a range of flexible working and life balance options for those that want to work in a professional and progressive environment while still having the time to take advantage of everything our district has to offer.
